31st Infantry Division Patch
The Alabama Army National Guard Patch was worn from 7 March 1919 to Present. The two D'S stand for "Dixie Division" a nickname that was given to them in WW I.
The Thirty-First division was organized in early 1861 at Tuscaloosa, Alabama as the Warrior Gauards and mustered into Confederate service in May of 1861 at Montgomery as Company G, 5th Alabama Infantry. Today the 31st Infantry Division is now the 31st Armored Brigade (which continues the lineage of the combat proven "31st Old Dixie" Division) is aligning to a new headquarters, the 149th Armored Brigade in Kentucky, which is part of the 35th Infantry Division.
Campaigns: Civil War-Confederate, World War I, World War II.
Decorations: Philippine Presidential Unit Citation - WW II.
Our 31st Division patch is a regulation, full color, embroidered military patch. This is the same patch that is supplied to the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, Army Reserve units, and sold in the Army Post Exchanges. This patch would be a great gift idea and a wonderful addition to your patch collection.
